newbie chassis help

Hey guys I'm new to this and just picked up a free mower
I need help on how to build my chassis/chassis modifications i need to make.
please post picture of y'all's chassis.

Go to the build section and read the one titled "George's New Build for 07" that is a great place to start, especially if your free mower is any type of MTD.

Mine is a old craftsman model #917255830 if that makes any difference in how i should modify the chassis
I think I'm leaning toward building something that would fall into the B/P class.

That build will cover most prepared class mowers with a few adjustments.  Your Craftsman may not be identical but the theories are the same.  As far as building for B/P just be warned that some, if not most clubs will not let you race B/P until you have some experience in a lower hp class.  I have been racing an S/P for a few years and still wouldn't consider myself ready for that kind of power.

S/P is a modified flathead single cylinder on a prepared chassis and a G/P is a STOCK single cylinder with a governer on a prepared chassis with any gear ratio you desire.  (Like an IMOW but no gear ratio rule)
