24 hp intek
« on: July 11, 2013, 04:42:13 pm »
My step father has a grass cutter that smokes...but not until it gets warm. This is a 24 hp intek. He says one of the spark plugs looks so bad he is suprised it fires. Does this sound like it could be piston rings? Any help aperciated.

Its an 01 that cuts a couple acres so its pry just worn out. He tore it apart, head gasket didn't seem to be bad. The only obvous damage was in one cylinder. You can feel a low spot, its down pry an inch or so. Its not scratched and does not run parell with the cylinder and its only towards the pan side of the block. Kinda wierd, although I've heard that is where they like to wear, since gravity kills. Also the cylinders look pretty polished no cross hatch form hone. I'm calling it junk. Lol thanks for the help. Unless it might be able to be honed and new rings. I guess it just one of those things it might work or...might not.
