Cv460 Crankshaft Gear Timing
« on: June 26, 2013, 08:25:43 am »
Hey Guys, I need some help. Rebuilding a CV460 for a friend that broke the camshaft. When I put the crankshaft and piston/rod in place and align the large gear timing mark with the balance shaft, the connecting rod end cap collides with the balance shaft. Is is possible for the large gear to have spun on the crankshaft when this engine seized? It doesn't appear to use a woodruff key like a Briggs. The cam (small gear) appears to be correctly aligned per any pictures I've found. Can anyone send me any pictures of the correct crank/gear timing positions? Thanx! Send info to: vigilantguardian_fcf@juno.com

THAT GEAR IS PART OF THE CRANK. IF IT SPUN THE NAKED EYE WONT BE ABLE TO SEE IT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE SPIN, SO I DONT KNOW.
