« on: December 31, 2005, 08:12:27 pm »
Was just wondering,if the ARC billet wheel will fit the older engines?I have a couple engines that are not the TVM model. They are Craftsman Tecumseh models VM80.Don't know how old they are, just want to see if the wheel would fit the extra engines I have? :?:

The magneto is the same. from what I can tell, several parts are interchangable from the h80 to the tvm220 Like the magneto. The flywheel according to my part smart is not even listed on many of the models it does list magneto and flywheel in a unit. I wish I could say for sure. But block journals are the same, crank gears the same, rod journals are on may. I know this don't help but from what I can gather I would say it will fit. But like I also said It doesn't give conclusive proof it does. Best I can tell the only difference if any would be the taper. I can't see so much else being alike and that being different.

Thanks George.I could always take one wheel off the TVM220,and see if it will fit on the VM80.Also,can you really tell a difference with the Billet wheel then stock one?

I can't speak for a ap motor I never rode one before then after, but in sp fx and bp the throttle response off the corner is unreal. I spoke with a two time AP champion and driver of the year recently on his mower. He used the stock wheel. His reasoning was the small motor needed more grunt off the corner and he felt the stock wheel did so. But on the same token I know guys that are just as fast running the billet wheels. I reckon if you ask 10 different people you would probably get half that many different answers. But I will say from my experiance it is the best bolt on piece money can buy.
