honda gx 240 got me lost? please help
« on: April 16, 2013, 03:12:04 am »
I got a Honda gx 240 and I threaded the valve cover so I can run a fuel pump and the first time I did it, it didn't have a good seal so I could Hardly even ride it so I re taped the cover and when I get on the track it runs good and idles good ( and oh yeah I forgot to metion it has always ideled good) it seems like its doing really good until I spin out in a curve or take a really sharp turn it just dies? idk what it could be I have cleaned the carb out and it looks good could it just need a new jet in it cause the old one was kind of dirty but I got it clean or is a float sticking or what? it completely confuses me I don't know what it could be it seems just as if you were running out of gas but its got good gas flow. does anyone got any kind of idea what my problem is
also I forgot to add after it dies is doesn't start right back up it takes a min before it will even start
yes its fast, no you can not ride it!

Sounds like its bouncing the fuel into the bowl andf flooding the motor, bowl vent may need to be done externally.

I agree with George on this one.  Is more common than you may think.  Briggs walbro carbs are notorious for this and must use a external vent.

This problem brings back a lot of memories George, remember my first national race in OHIO.
