all i have ever used is some soapy water on the bead, and push them on with my hands. now seating the beads is another story....usually requires a trip to the local tire shop!

I mount all my tires with a bench mounted manual tire changer I bought at Northern Tool for less than $50.00
Lots of dish soap to mount and then you take the valve out of the stem and put a strap on the tire, use a air blow gun to push lots of air in to seat the bead to the lip of the wheel, put the valve back in and fill to desired PSI.

For 8" wheels I always tube them.

I use motorcycle tire tools, I also use hand soap. Once the tire is on the rim I use a band or strap to compress it. I even mounted 38.5x15 Boggers using three ratchet straps.

The blaster we have is called a cheetah. They work on all kinds of tires

You can make your own for about $50 if you have a welder and know how to use it. All they are is a portable air tank with a few pipe fittings and ball valves from Lowes or home depot. TSC has 5 gallon air tanks all day long for $30 around here. The bead blaster is a great tool, but DO NOT put 100 psi in it to seat a lawn mower tire, kiss it good bye if ya do and you may end up hurt.

That is literally all they are. I have saw one that some idiot managed to ruin so I cut it apart to look inside of it as he deemed it "junk".

I made a "blaster" maybe 16years ago. Works fine.

Propane tanks make great air tanks. Ask any Amishman.

Propane tanks are not internally lined.  They will rust from the inside out.  They can become very dangerous.

I use to work in the propane industry and was certified to inspect propane tanks.
