with the vtwins should one run straight duals or an xpipe or just a balance pipe between the duals
ive read,  with cars the xpipe makes more power and scavenges better
anyone experimented with this stuff  does it make a difference on these motors

Well I have run a two seperate exhaust identicle side by side, I have run a two header into one pipe setup, I have run a dual axhasut with the Xtype crossover and I have run one with the H type cross over. I didn't like the H type at all. I liked the X and the identicle dual side by side the best. Both seemed to produce more bottom end than anything else. The two header into one work well everywhere. As for which is the best. Not so sure one is. The differences are not as great by the seat of the pants feel as you would expect. The biggest reason I disliked the H type was the sound. The best sounding exhaust of them all is the two into one type. But I have won equally with each setup so can't say any of them perform bad.

hey george what size pipe did you use
also does it help to wrap the pipes with header wrap
i heard keeping the heat in the pipes makes more power also
i figured every little bit helps
does someone make the x part of the exhaust or did you make it yourself
thanks for the help

The first 12 to 15 inches of any exhaust has been 1 inch ID. from there I have tried several sizes. All exhausts have been one off pieces either I built or had built. I have tried header wrap and again if it helped you couldn't feel it in the seat of the pants.

I used pre bent pieces from RLV the compnay for making kart pipes. A friend knows a friend and They sponsored me with a bunch of prebent pieces of different angles. Worked great too.
