Winter project!
« on: March 05, 2013, 12:10:44 pm »
Just got this one done!   My grandpa bought it new.  This is the first tractor my dad ever drove.

Complete rebuild.  Every nut and bolt was removed.  All new gaskets and overhaul.

Sweet!!!
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Nice looking tractor. We have a super h buried in a shed at work that needs to look like that. I have a John Deere b in the basement that will be a project one of these days

Thanks for all the comments.

Sad part is it needed all new tires.  Those cost more than what we can get out of the entire tractor.

But it isn't for sale!

We did a super MTA about 4 years ago that grandpa bought new as well. Still have his F14 that he restored.

I think the 706 he bought new is next on the list.

Hey Paul, did you guys look at that new tire Titan came out with for the tractor rides? Has the center rib all the way around for a smoother ride on hard roads. Assuming this will be more of a parade tractor.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Titan Tire is pleased to announce the availability of the official WHO Tractor Ride Tire. The limited edition tractor tire is built to commemorate the WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride, featuring the WHO Big Show and Future Farmers of America (FFA) logos on the sidewall. The tire is designed with Comfort Ride Center Rib (CRCR) Technology, promising a smooth ride for this year’s participants. A portion of all the CRCR tire proceeds will benefit the FFA.

That is cool!   But it will still see light duty work. And haul the grand kids around.

It will hit some parades but dad will never go on a full blown tractor ride!   We are just 6 miles from Carstens Farm. They hold a big tractor show in the fall and do antique farming. Kind of like living history farm but just in the fall.  So it may make it up there.
