Help with briggs build Plz

I want to make my 19hp Briggs go fast. Can anybody help? I want to have some fun with this mower. I've been told there isn't much you can do, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to know what to do with the motor and the mower itself.  Thanks for your help.

Lots you can do. 

But you need it to stop.  Turn.  And have all the other required safety parts.

What class are you building?

I'm not really building for a class right now. I just want to have fun in the yard with it. I probably will add a lanyard safety switch just in case something happens. What can I do to the motor? I want to have the brake and gas set up like a car.

We don't bomb around the backyard here. We race purpose built mowers. Not safe and backyard bombers usually give us a bad name when they get hurt.
