ARC's Kohler Twin Flywheel is shipping!

Uses the Vanguard/Model 28 Coil (both facing out) which are sold separately at the following link:
http://www.arcracing.com/servlet/the-906/Ignition-Coil-Armature-Magneto/Detail

Coil brackets are included and may need clearancing from your intake manifold depending on the manifold you use.  We recommend you grind the coil bracket to accomplish this if it is necessary.

You may need to shim the starter slightly to keep the starter and ring gears from binding.  As always, lubricate the ring gear.  It is also a good idea to occasionally unbolt the ring gear from the flywheel and rotate it so the starter gear isn't hammering the same ring gear teeth over and over until they fail.

So it doesn't use the stock ring gear?

No, I talked to Tom a while back, It uses it's own gear. Here is a plus though,Say you are running a briggs intek you can order the ring gear, hub, and coil brackets for the Kohler and run your 6611 series wheel. I was thinkin about it. But I'm gonna stay briggs for this year money wise I don't think I can swing an engine change.
I am now aware all 6611 flywheel bodies are the same so making the switch to a twin from a single is as easy as a few part changes instead of a whole new wheel kit if you move up from single to twin or brand to brand.

I thought you could do that with all mower wheels? As in they all use the same flywheel part and the rest was the differences

ALL briggs motors except the apposed and model 19 along with the Tecumseh Twin and the kawi and now the Kohler use the same 6611 body. The difference between models is hub and ring gears and coil mount accessories.

when is arc going to have rods out?     working on a 83mm twin if arc make a stock rod i could bore block around .020 over and use a 49 intek twin piston, rist pin in intek is around .004 larger so a little and this could happen
