Compact Diesel Pullers
« on: December 16, 2012, 01:04:56 pm »
Just saw this video on youtube,

http://youtu.be/aKnlxCWnXAI

Compact Diesel class. Anyone know about this? I think it may be in Germany.
Looks like mini mod chassis with tractor sheet metal and diesel power.
They are bigger than a garden tractor puller.

They are wild.

Very cool.

Looks like a mini modified class that runs a diesel.

Bet they are expensive!!!

They're 4 cyl vw motors. 15" wheels and automotive rear ends. Not what we run in the US.
Talking with the guys over there, they said most times they let the whole class full pull the first time to put a show on.

You gave her the wrong look...ya gotta give her the "that's my next thing" look. Not "I wanna". It's worked for dad the last 20 years lol

What make rear do they use?

What kind of tranny?

What size rear tires?

Idk over there. Heard of ford rear ends. Look like 31 or 34" tires.

We decided in the states to build them how we are now is because they act like the big tractors. Those are more like mini rods. And the biggest thing is, I can only think of one garden tractor sled that could stop them without them being barely able to move the sled.

So when ya starting the build?

I wish.

If I had the money and the time to travel more I would love to do it.

The other problem is I would probably have to fight my wife for the drivers seat.
