here ya go, gx390 check em out!!!!!!

Personally if the actual mower isn't legal to race in any fashion, then the engine from that mower isn't legal either. Again my interpretation. If that's the closest thing you have to offer as a mower then even the gx390 is a no go. I'm still looking for the Predator engine in any mower.

this is what  the rule book says for FXS.......2. MAX ENGINE: single cylinder Max 18hp or 33ci OEM rated OHV or Opposed twin Flat Head 46 ci maximum flathead coming from the lawn equipment origin (4 cycle engines). No fuel
injection.

with that being said that would rule out the blockzilla being legal for this class because it a flathead single.

Again this goes back to the intek 44/49 deal. Ok so there was a gxv390, so the fx390 is the horizontal form of the gxv...and the predators etc are "clones" of the Honda...so these engines are closer to the gxv390 than a blockzilla ever was.

I guess Im missing something. The 44/49 is a briggs either way you look at it. Per the rules it does say a mower manufactured engine. I agree with Lester, show me a mower that came with a predator engine. If its a Honda engine then it will have honda on it. Either way I have no dog in this hunt since I dont own a mower anymore but just stating my opinion. If it came down to it Id race against a Wong Dong Brotha Of Fong brand engine.

I dont see flathead single anywhere in this rule

the Predator/Honda thing I think goes back to the replacement Kohler heads that are illegal. As far as the Predator I'll keep my 540 Kawi. I'm just starting to tap into the power they will produce. After this season with just minimal porting and a mild cam I can't wait til next season. I'm going to wake a sleeping giant and make believers out of everyone!!!!

Lester

Again it says MAX. They give you the upper limit. As stated earlier there is a 5hp flatty racing out there.

That's kind of where I was going with it lester. People just using the 49 instead of punching out a 44 like the 420 instead of the 390.

Side note- I have heard that I was running a recast head on my Kohler single this year and I just wanted to clear up that it was a stock head, and didn't even have time to change the valve size from stock. Just mild port job.

Drew it says modifications to the block and heads unlimited. just use a small piece of the stock heads and go from there.  8)
