Banner Ads

Am I just slow or is this something fairly new? I’ve been noticing on this site as well as some others I frequent that the last 2 or 3 things I have “googled” or researched on the web are popping up in the banner ads. Go ahead and laugh at me if you must, this has probably been going on for years and I just noticed….

Google and Bing both have made public that over the last several years, their ad-driving strategies which do some kind of logaryithmic hoo-ha with your PC's search history, or something to that nature.

You can get rid of that by clearing your "cookies"... yes that's what they are actually called haha.  Your computer temporarily saves the sites you visit and when you visit sites with ad's, it references them.  For example i went to xtremediesel.com a few days ago by googleing it, because i forgot the web address, and now the ad in the upper right corner for me is for xtremediesel.com.  Your computer remembers EVERYTHING you do  :omg:

I wonder if my old computer remembers the time it quit working, and I took it out behind my house and shot at it with my .300 Win. Mag.?  :D
