I just picked up a big kohler cv 1000 wil the close chamber 20 hp heads fit on it

Thats a big block 40hp Kohler Command v-twin. I don't believe any parts will interchange from the small block engines except for the carb

Get the billet crank...its good for 200+ Hp.

What do you plan to do with it?  I don't know of anyplace you can race it on a mower.

On our track you can we are not sanctioned run what you brung and hope u brung enough. And I'm aware that it weighs more so me and the motor will make a great team because I weigh more to..

Put some big valves in It and weld the heads up too. I would also weld up the intake and exhauster runners and re shape it and make it bigger too.

what rpm? my experiance with the big blocks are the coils begin to cut out around 4500 rpm, almost like a rev limiter. Very similar to the newer coils in the non SAM ignition.  At least they can be changed out rather easilly.

I did some calculating. Take the cv1000. And with the 3.5" crank with it sleeved to the. 3.78" pistons makes it like 1284cc.  Or 80 cu in.    Do u think the tech man will get me if I put. 80 cu in on the Hood like george

You can buy The Brute for $18,000. You realize you probably don't need to do much to the motor at all. Just put rods and pistons.
