Tecumseh 17.5 mounting issue question
« on: January 05, 2007, 06:17:04 pm »
I've never worked on verts, so I appologize... there is only one hole in the engine I can access the back of to apply a nut.... this raises the question that do I use pegs on the other 4 holes or ????? they appear to be smooth, and if I send up a pick I can't grab a tooth.... I can tap them easily enough if I should is what I am unsure of..

if I stud those holes as alignments, and bolt the one left, and tie in several struts to the block using several existing surface cover bolts.... is this the recommended action? I can't imagine one little bolt flange is expected to hold the motor down.. I don't know whats under that pan, so I don't want to tear into the oil pan/ base without knowing what to watch out for/ etc. thanks

the blind holes are tapped generally 3/8 standard thread. But it will need  4 blots holding it down or will never work.
