RESULTS FROM THE FIRST ATTEMPT : Man was that some good bird! took over 1 1/2 hours but yummy.coated it with seasoning,salt,pepper and tyme, kept it basted with olive olive oil and yes Jim I made a foil tray under the can holder WORKED PERFECT! used apple slices above the can.I used 3 1/2 beers for the whole operation...SUCCESS.. :dance: :drool: :rockwoot:

I've read stories about people cooking turkeys like that and the turkeys come blasting out of the oil. Can't imagine a whole pig flying through the air.
