kawasaki fc400v
« on: June 26, 2012, 03:34:53 pm »
Ive got a fc400v overhead valve stock engine that will not run unless the choke is fully on. I have cleaned the carb and the jets. I ran wire thru all of the passage ways in the carb, used carb cleaner and compressed air. all new gaskets and new heat shield. new fuel pump, filter and hoses too.

Did notice spark plug hole is stripped so I cannot tighten the plug all of the way. I think this is the problem, but thought I would run it by you guys.

any ideas

YOU HAVE A BLOCKAGE IN THE CARB. THE STRIPED PLUG HOLE WILL NOT KEEP IT FROM RUNING. DOES THIS HAVE A SOLENOID ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CARB? IF SO IT MAY BE GUMED UP AND NOT OPENING ALL THE WAY.

Its possible that you didn't get it as clean as you think the emulsion tube should thread out through the bottom of the carb sounds like its plugged maybe even the vent is plugged... there is a little brass screw that screws in the top on the lh side that's the idle jet sometimes they are held in with another screw and a steel plate kaw carbs are finiky
There's somethin' in the works...
