tilly help
« on: June 03, 2012, 06:55:08 pm »
We have a tilly on our gx390 and this weekend was the first race of the year for it .It was running out of fuel on the top end making it sound just like a rev limiter max recall was 5500 , it did this before but i could always adjust the h side too clear it up but it doesnt make a difference now , I was talking too a couple people that said about using some kind of guage and poping the valve but i dont have no ideas about these tillys.

sounds like fuel is running straight thru it. Do you see any coming out filter. Pop off is how you set the needle because there is no float. On gas pop off should be 12lbs +/- 1 and arm height should be .075. new skins and diaphrams  should be done minimum twice a season. To keep them on their A-Game karters put gasket sets in every 4 races but with them a tenth of a tenth matters.

Hey george i put all new gaskets and diprhams in it ,it looks really clean and its still doing the same thing 5700 was the max recall on it that time but it gets worse as the race goes on it seems like .Im not really sure what to do know i can adjust the carb anywhere and it doesnt seem too make too much of a difference it seems too run rich when its idling the plug was pretty black when i just put a new one in it .

Have you checked pop off pressure and arm height. Has it ever run good with this carb.
