you need to clean the main circuit in the carb it has some trash in it somewhere...

or hook a car tach up to it. the green wire goes to the kill switch on the magneto and the red and white wires go to the positive terminal and the black is the ground. i put one on a twin intek and it only worked if you used one magneto and it ran 2x the rpm it actualy was but it should work on a single. i saw a video on utube of a guy with a pullin tractor who did this

But that would mean I would need a 16000 rpm car tach, do they make those!

The tach they are using is an made for Briggs small engines works on single and twins it's 115.00 look at summit in the jr drag sectionhttp://m.summitracing.com/parts/atm-6652

Here ya go went up a bit but will work on any Briggs if a twin just use a single coil

my tach wouldnt work period using both coils. it was a proform off my fathers old stock car
