Hello all!
I went to the Nationals here in Iowa and got the fever, I have raced a few other toys and retired thinking my fun days were over. After the events and saw all the drivers I believe I still have a few more racing days now in me. BTW I am a 100% disabled Vet but have enough gets to give the boys a run once more.

Names Brian Gott,, i live in lexington/Anderson Al. Yep im new, got to start somewhere so why not here and now.. I lived in Cali all my life up till 5 years ago and now im here. i have a background in motorcross and destruction derby. I have to say this sport has changed my life. I made my first race in carbon hill,, i may not been fast nor was i prepared but understand i drove 2hr in the hopes of a race. I did not really know anyone.. Never even seen a race but i still jumped right in... I will get better.. Got to give a shout out to Larry.. Thanks.. I went down to his shop and asked some questions about mower racing and he pointed me in the right direction. good luck to all tonight, stay safe...

New guy here, first post.

I'm from NW ohio. Fort Jennings to be exact.

About 8-9 years ago two guys that shared a backyard started mower races in town. Soon many people in town got involved and the races were moved to the park with the park festival that was held annually. Now the races have become a great event called motor madness weekend every year in August.

Bi-centenial is coming up next week and the mower races will be held during the celebration.

I'm young but have always loved tinkering. My friend and I took a old junkyard lawnmower and stripped it down to the frame. Beefed up the steering for safety reasons and re-enforeced the frame with some crossbars welded. Strapped on a old 3.5hp push mower engine and a tether and now it does 15mph :)

my uncle has races since the beginning and has been FAST. his mower has won him many races.

My friend and I are starting another mower project. One that is more race worthy and safer.

I came here for some guidence and help.

This is the place to be, if you want to be fast AND safe!!!
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

And I did not hurt Marc's mower. A few hay bales maybe, and I think Ron needed fresh shorts.....
