front axle mounting question
« on: April 21, 2012, 11:39:08 am »
I'm ready to mount my front axle. What I was planning on doing is cutting down to the 3/4" tubing ( red dots) and putting another piece of 3/4" between the frame bracing and then welding the axle to those pieces and up the frame. Any problems with doing that? Hopefully that makes sense. It'll be welded to the frame on both sides and then all the way across the length of it to the 3/4" tubing.

I'm not sure. Would it be better to move the axle as far forward as you can?

Another note, can you have a couple of cross bolts, say 1/2", for backup, between the reinforcement and the axle beam?

Yes you can do that. Axle has to remain in stock location(front to back) but you can notch the frame to slide the axle up or down to get your ride height. This applies to USLMRA & ARMA.
