Forget the coke syrup...be a driver and drift them corners!

that is the only way i beat the 104 flip flops last year. i gess that tires spinning at 30mph get better traction than spinning at 60mph

Shannon as Tommy said, Keep an eye on the track ahead of time if you can. Watch for spots where a monster may lay down any fluids. Cleaned up or not ,If in the racing groove, It can create a slick spot that can make you break traction for just a second and when you get back to good syrup, make you hook and possibly flip. Been there -Saw that  " ugly "  Good Luck   Have fun !!!!

Most indoor races run on coke syrup require catch cans for just this reason. At Monster truck venues that is not always the case, so you need to watch out for mowers spitting fluids as well!

A 2 part question: never raced on syrup but would there be an advantage to running ribbed or turfmaster style tire and the same question for real grass ? I'm thinking smoothies on real grass would be fun but real slow .......

On coke syrup I think slicks would be best...but never tried it, with only one or two events a year it isn't worth the investment.

On Grass..all the traction you can get man!

In theory, slicks should give you mower grip on coke..... BUT if you have really clean turf masters you will get all the grip you need, your limitation will be your center of gravity and the "pucker effect" factor going around the corners.

the biggest thing on coke is to keep it from sticking to the tires so get ahold of some prep like goat pee it will soften the tire so it sticks but breaks down the coke so it doesn't stick to the tires. get everything as low as you can for vcg and run as much left side weight as you can.if you think you are just going to wing anything into a corner on coke like you would dirt you will learn real fast how it feels to fly we have a heck of a time keeping a kart from bicycling on coke. if you can get ahold of slicks i'd do it . we have a guy who runs quads around here runs kart tires on coke

Smoothies are not needed on grass to teach pitch....maybe to teach complete and udder frustration!
