counterweight/countershaft?

Does the fc 420 have a counterweight or countershaft? Can u take if out without rebalancing the crank and will it run

ITS A COUNTER WEIGHT. YES YOU WOULD HAVE TO BALANCE. UNLESS YOU DONT WANT YOUR TEETH ANYMORE. :lol:

It would just shake at low rpm right? It wouldn't break the crank would it?

How much does it usually cost to get a mower crank balanced? If u were to do this on a ungovwrned stock engine would it then be illegal for that class

I dont know what a FC42 is, but cost would depend on what had to be made to get it back into balance, I'm assuming no one make a balance weight for this engine? Just a rough guess on price somewhere in the $125 to $150 range. But before I committed on anything I would need more info.

Josh, that is a local class...I am guess at MCK??
Most of us here race national rules...there are some MCK racers on here though, you need to check with tech at wherever it is you are running as to whether or not it would be legal.

I run soma rules ill just run it this year stock and get a cam springs valve job porting and crank balanced for 2013. Didn't I hear these motors will  hold up to over 6000 rpm with the stock rod?
