throttle response

Ok I got my kaw on and changed the oil and filter but when I go to hit the throttle it has a little bog then it turns up eerything is stock even the carb I've tried to adjust the air bleed screw it got a touch better but its not something I want it doing on the track does anyone have any suggestions

Did you change the air filter? If you upgraded it you may have to fatten the low end jet/or screw, im not familiar with the kawis.

its not lean coming out the exhaust and i put a uni filter on it because it is ungoverned when i opened the screw up one time i hit the gas and it shot a flame out the exhaust

when i let off  I know thats normal but i think im getting to much air and not enough fuel bit i ran the same filter and mount on my briggs and i never rejetted it and it ran perfect

That's why he said you need to richen it up some. I think the Mikuni carbs are a little smaller than the Walbro carb used on briggs.

If the flame came after reving up then you could have valve seat issues also.

all my race motors let out a flame when you let off the gas my brand new built intek my briggs 14.5 my briggs 16 and my briggs flathead and now my Kawasaki

its a ohv fc420 I think the carb is a mikuni

If you have flames/ or backfire issues when letting off the throttle, its either valve seat issues as stated earlier,or you have an exhaust leak( gasket or broken pipe) and or your pipe is too short.

its more than likely an exhaust leak but thats not really a problem im concerned with the carb but i think ive got it figured out

Thanks for all the input but I figured it out I cleaned the carb it helped a little then I checked the valves and come to find out the exhaust valve was so tight the valve wasn't even closing all the way and the intake was too loose I set both  and its right now.and by the way these motors have gobbs of torque and it pulls hard to over 5000 with stock internals  it think it would have kept pulling but I let off don't want to harm it
