No. The 540 is much larger crank diameter. Working on modifying an Arc hub to fit the 540 kawi crank.

I THINK THE 540 FLYWHEEL IS LARGER THAN THE 460. WHY DONT YOU JUST MAKE YOUR OWN HUB

I'm going to use an Intek V-twin wheel. The ring gear will be close enough so all I should need to do is slot the starter holes a bit.

FYI..........The 420, 460, 540 flywheels are not interchangable.
The 420 & 460 are close, but no pickle...won't work.

Everything is much BIGGER on the 540..........the 420 & 540 share the same bore....(can use the same piston),but the 540 has a much longer stroke, making it a low end grunt monster, not so much on the top register. That counter weight weighs as much as a cinder block. Now if we can remove it and balance the crank, and get a billet flywheel.....ain't nuthin gonna touch this engine.

Now here's a question:.....when you drop an ARC Billet flywheel or other billet flywheel in, can you use the stock ingition coils?
I put one on a 460 and was told I had to change the coild to the briggs raptor coil.................dunno why........

Everyone says briggs raptor coil briggs raptor coil... on my fb460 I ran a used coil off a stock intek and it ran just fine... so I take it the kaw coil works too joey?

AS LONG AS THE IGNITER IS BUILT IN THE COIL AND NOT THE ONE THAT USES THE EXTERNAL IGNITER.

Yep you are still required to run one as far as I know. If one is not available you will have to adapt one to the engine or get a custom billet wheel made. That's my understanding of the situation anyway.

Good Point Grub.......stock coil uses the Ignitor, Briggs does not.
Wonder if it works with the Stock Kawi coil/ingitor combo.......bet it will start easier as the ignitor advances the timming during the start cycle and helps ignition all the way around.
And these new Billet Flywheels typically use a high out put Neodynium magnets too.

Think I'll try it on my built 460 and see what cooks.......might try a colder plug. Hmmmm....
