murry widebody frame
« on: January 26, 2012, 10:35:21 am »
Hi , I have done several hours of research to answer my question with no luck . I have a murry widebody with the 2 seperate frame rails .this build is a BP .  my question is in order to get the min 4'' ground clearence the rear axle bearings must be mounted roughly 1 1/2'' above the frame rail , is this legal to do ? and is it legal to box the bearing mount with 1'' sq. tubing ? I looked through the rules and didnt notice anything that raised any flags just wanted to make sure . I also searched on here , although there are a few widebodys on here they either dont show pictures or are supermods which build rules seem to be totally different to me . any info would be much appreciated .

Just make sure you stay with the stock wheelbase. Reinforce on the inside of the rear plate and box in the bearing mounts. Did mine that way on my BP Deere chassis. Same basic design frame.

1'" X 2" rectangular tubing fits inside the frame rails nicely.

Doesn't that get a little heavy?

There is a good build on one...this was a nice mower, fast and well handling.
