Will a 16 6.50x 8 tire fit easy on a 8x8 wheel?

I think it should. We put 13x 650's on 8 1/4's All the time. We use a ratchet strap to squeeze the middle of the tire in forcing the beads out. Then we air them up and let the strap loose.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

It also helps if you use a band made out of metal to force the sides out.
