Desperate HELP '85 454 dually mow hauler
« on: November 22, 2011, 08:43:37 pm »
I purchased a 1985 C-3500 dually to haul our mowers for cheap,it had a carb fire which destroyed not only the vacuum lines as well as the "map" on the air cleaner. Chevy is NO HELP as well as anything online,I need the vacuum diagram for it, vin code "w" .I've already tried all the normal sources,I need someone that has a factory or similar book that covers fed and calif emissions. NOTE; the thermo -vacuum switch on the thermostat housing has 4 ports...that is the key.
Chevy can't even produce this and that is just not right.I would APPRECIATE any help on this....... :bash:

they do but not on S.I. you would have to look in an old manual. if you to your auto parts online site, ie auto zone, you can buy alldata for your truck for ver little money. and it is on the all data pro site. if you cant get it let me know mabe i can print it out and send it to you.

If you can wait until I am back at work on Monday, I am sure we still have all manual for it upstairs on the shelf, and I could fax you the diagrams you need. The online GM manuals I have access to only date back to 1998.
I suppose it will have to pass emissions, being in California.

I gotta say...

this is a lawn mower racing forum.

But the membership goes way beyond just racing mowers ..

If you need ..ask.....if someone has the means,    you will recieve...

no where else (that I am aware of ) does this exist...

unique to say the least...

pics as soon soon as the sleeper gets finished for the final mock-up,cab and bed are ready to go !
incase you didn't already figure it out out this engine had a carb fire just on the manifold, so we rebuilt the q-jet and fixing everything else. Trucks; just yesterday we ran across ANOTHER nice 454 dually with under 100k on it too.this one is injected so we may be doing another transplant...!!!!$2500 !!!!!! excellent shape! We fully understand the gas thing but when you can get 9 mowers on 1 rig it makes sense.with special permits we could even pull our trailer, another 9.......it ain't no rocket up hills but it does the job!
Jeeze that would be 60+ feet of mowers....cool!
