Topic: Whats the best chassis to build for TALL guys?

I'm 6'5" and can't fit on most mowers because of my legs.I have driven or sat on/in most and none work well.Haveing a hard time deciding on which to compromise ,the pedals alone get to far out front or the seat gets too far back.something that would work for b/p......Tall guys help...

Im 6 feet tall and thick 230 lbs. Ive found that Im most comfortable on AYP chassis. Another good thing is they have a 47 inch wheelbase and thats about perfect.

Build one to fit u I'm 6'4 260 lbs I fit on a huffy...
...... assemble  &disassembled  many times  to get it to fit you its your mower hand throttle works good   your only out their for 5 to 10 min at a time

My biggest problem is my knees v.s. steering wheel,I just can't see having my butt past the axle.

Just make your steering a little taller. Thats what Im doing on my new mower to make it more comfortable for me and so I dont have to worry about my knees hitting the steering wheel.

a round body craftsman would be good it has a long wheel base and there not that heavy

Look at my avatar. 6'3" and 250 PLUS on a wheel horse. I think the wheelbase on that is 45.5". I think I'm a little light in the front but I still have a little adjustment left. If your building it you'll make it work out just go for the longer wheelbase.

im 6ft 2" @ 255lbs and my legs come up to my chest but i find that running a john deer chassis is more comfortable to sit in longer wheel base but it really comes down to how flexible you are when your racing.

Curt is that what you have the Indian IN. Oh my thats a lot of motor for that chassis. LOL I am suprised you can even keep the front on the ground at all if thats the case. LOL. Good looking mower though from what I see in the avatar.

YES, George he has the mean Injun in that little horse. Imagine the incredible hulk driving a hotwheels car. Now you can picture Curt kicking my butt on the big engined little horsey.

Those are my exact 2 problems, the front end coming up if I get my seat too far back and I already lean way forward on the wheel to get my cg down in turns...right now I'm at 45 wb think I'm gonna shove that axle back another 3"....?

Yep that's the one. It will look a lot better when you see it in July. Going to tear down and paint here real soon. Thinking I may slide engine ahead just a little to get some weight back on the front end a lil sooner getting into the corners. I have to brake pretty hard some times on corner entry it can be a hand full but in a good way...

My driver for my SP is 6' 6". Since we can't alter the wheelbase we "cheated" the dash forward about 3". We also moved the pedals as far forward as we could (They miss the front tire at full turn my 1/4"). We didn't get thr wheel quite as high as we should have but he raced it fine. Now our super Mods fit a tall driver nicely. Plenty of room to bend your knees if you are tall or sit straighter legged for the vertically challenged.

I have yet to drive a super-mod where I can actually USE the brake,If I ever get to build mine it's probably gonna look like a mower limo.
