Hey guys, would anyone mind sharing any build info on a 12.5 briggs for the ARMA sportsman class? Maybe things like who to buy parts from and, is the carb and cam rule a "stock appearing" rule. thank you.

Thank you Rooster. The rules appears we can run whatever bore and stroke along cam and valve sizes. If i ran a stock crank and stock replacement piston along with correct balancing can anyone recommend a safe max rpm? I have heard of similar builds with a tillotson carb running around 7000 rpm, does this sound right?

Don't think you want to run the stock rod to 7K! I would keep it under 5500, if that.

In ARMA you won't be running a Tillotson on a Briggs though, Has to be the Briggs carb.

Are you gonna use an ARC billet rod or a stock rod?

Billet for sure.  Yeah, i was planning on building a big bore stock appearing carb. What all brand carburetors came on the 28's?

They either had a Flow-jet 1 piece carb and Intake, or a Warlboro carb with a separate intake.

If you are using ARC rod, the stock flatty piston will not work, you need an AVS piston...

But again, all of this has been posted in the flat head section!
