Firstly disconnect the white wire which is the kill wire and see if it has a spark. The ignition module and the control box are compatible with each other only so no way to bypass it.
If either the control box or module are faulty there is a superceded ignition module that has the smart spark advance built into it. It does away with the control box.
If it has blades I'm not interested.

Disconnect the white wire going to the control box. The coil has two wires going to it from the control box. Neither are white. Also make sure there is a good 12volt supply to the control box and any ground wires have good connections to earth. Hope this helps.
If it has blades I'm not interested.
