Well I have to admit, more than once I told myself, "If I had to do this again, I'd do this and that different."  Guess what?  I DO!!!    LOL

Dale, no wonder he's slow, but like I tell everyone at work.   The tortoise won the race.

There we go...

Not sure what I was thinking with the front riser (I told you it was late... )

Drop the front a tad and now we can use the stock mounting tab...seat still fits fine...

Hey Randy, I'm not sure if that will be a legal S/S mower. Reason being it must be built under the USLMRA SP class guidlines. My original SP was going to be built from that exact chassis, it was even orange too!  George Herrin at the time was the USLMRA Head Tech and I emailed him photos of it. He stated flat out it was an illegal chassis for the SP class and would be legal for AP. Simply too short. I told him mine was exactly 39 3/16" long and simply stated "Didn't Fly" That's why I'm running the with the 42 1/2" MTD chassis. Don't mean to rain on your parade just giving you a heads up.

S/P rules state 39" minimum...

Why would 39 3/16" be too short??

George...?? :?

You may of had a different chassis of some sort...??

Did the rule use to be 40" minimum...??

Sure like to know before I go to much further...

39 is legal the reason His was not was the way he did the front end. He went thru the frame front with squre tubing and mounted the axle to that  and that was not legal it effewctively altered the wheel base even if not it looked as though it was. And axles should be mounted straight to the frame.  Although things are different now. It is apparently ok saw some done that way this past weekend BUT the new rules will go into effect april 1st will wait to see what happens.

Well, Sami's back at it...

We had to (she had to) wait till it warmed up around here before she'd join me in the garage...(warm weather racer, I Guess.. )

But after mocking her S/S up she pulled it apart and started preping for paint...

Don't think I've seen a purple mower yet.

Looks like things are coming together pretty well though. It's cool that you've got a daughter who's into this stuff and not afraid to get her hands dirty.

LOL!! I wonder what she's going to teach the teacher! /o:?

Actually that could be a very cool experience for a lot of the kids, and if handled correctly it could be an excellent method of generating interest on their part while in the class.

Then towards the end of the year, like the last day of school maybe, so the poor teacher didn't have to put up with any influence it might have upon all of the students, she could bring Darrin for show and tell! (o;?

That would "definitely" be her last day...

So we better wait until the end of the school year...

Yeah, she might even want to wait until she has her final grade before bringing Darrin.
