From what I heard you should remove all governor part from inside the block if you are running without the governor.

I never had the parts fail but I wouldn't take the chance. Also at that time I didn't know what could happen if they failed.

Midwest Super Cub has a flywheel for the singles. Here is a pic, you should check it out and think about upgrading. It is a noticeable change to you engine that is not only safe but will give you and advantage against you buddies in performance.

My motor is all stock with thr governor removed and the mwsc flywheel. I ran an arma race with the stock flywheel then went to the mwsc flywheel and noticed a huge difference. Out of curiosity are you running a command or a courage?

The 19 hp would be a Courage and the MSC flywheel is for the Command.  The Courage crank is totally different and that flywheel won't work.

Ok that's what I thought. I hadn't seen a command higher than 18 hp.

Got a tach from a friend and found out I turning around 4600 RPM. Change the gearing and practiced this evening and was really satisfied with the torque off the corners. I think I'm just going to leave it where I have it now and have fun. I'm planning on building a new mower this winter and set it up for the midified class. I have a 14.5 B&S that will be a little cheaper to build. Going to keep the stock Kohler though and keep it stock. The other thing I found out with the tach is that the guys who were saying they were turning so many RPM were really only turning about 4800 instead of the 5700 they were bragging about. I think I've got something for them this weekend.
