Just wearing it in the yard testing its cooler more comfortable better movement of head with more defined control (limits) of head movement and even that is adjustable. To my knowledge they are legal in all Sanction bodies. They do not specify which brace you must wear only that its a neck brace designed for competition. Which this fits every aspect and then some.

I would definiately say that they are cooler, the gap around the helmet stays open and heat can escape, when I ran three classes, I never took it off, even when changing the belt or small adjustments.

If you want to stray cool, wear a Cool Shirt, they have a small bag with a pump that you can sit on your lap and run the pump off the mower.

And I'll bet you look good in that thing George!

I do Tommy.. I DO!!! Jake too had he had it on I bet he would not have broken his collar bone. The helmet cannot in no way get to the bone. And it spreads the impact over a much larger area thus less chance of injury too. I do love this thing.

that's what I thought George but as far as the heat being the factor I was actually fibbing......I wanted to make sure something else got out,Like when waiting in stageing and you have to 'let one go' that can sometimes effect your eyesight !

Anybody that is shocked by Leatt's prices should check out the Valhalla 360 device.Don't get me wrong here guys! I'm sure the Leatt is an Excellent product but I feel the 360 is too and at a more fair price. I wear one and it is comfortable to wear, and it is 180.00. Look at www.valhallaracing.com for more info as well as testimonials from people that have walked away from accidents injury free from using this brace. I don't see why my 360 wouldn't protect just as well as the Leatt brace just cost's less. Also Valhalla's Armadillo vest looks really nice too.

www.coolshirt.com       its a T shirt with around 200' of surgical tubing sewed into it which you circulate ice water. It cools your chest area and make life really great on a hot day in full gear. It uses a 12 volt boat bilge pump for the circulator, you can get a bag about as big as a camera casr (two quart) set it in your lap and plug into the lawn mower with a quick connect for power and stay cool. When you go to the site look for the Zero Tolerance team under testominials-good loking bunch.

Lots of NASCAR, Bonneville and industral people use them, check them out

I've been wearing an AVS neck brace all seasons and have been pretty happy with it. Definitely has a lot of support. My feelings about these is that everyone should consider a neck brace- doesn't matter what brand- but certainly something better than those foam neck collars. If you can spend $1,500 on an engine then you can surely afford the $150-$400 a neck brace costs. I also picked up a chest protector last week. I've been in too many spills and seen too many nasty accidents. My single biggest complaint is that it gets HOT out there and getting all this stuff on takes awhile and when you're in a hurry its a bit tedious.

Play safe!

well these are not squeezed between the shoulders and the helmet the sit on the shoulders and fit the contour of the shoulders and still allow ample movement but do not allow too much i personally dont know why you dont have one yet lol i wish i could show you in person how great these things are i love mine i will take some pics with it and a helmet on and post them out here but i think a topic on these should be stickied.

I always thought the foam braces where only for reducing neck fatigue from the helmet, and would actually do nothing in a crash?

Looking more at the Leatt I like the fact that the 360 device has the Part that sticks up behind the helmet like a hans does. The more the brace can limit helmet movement in a crash the better and the 360 will limit rearward movement with the tab sticking up in the back.
