Ineed some more info,
1.when you say you can't get fire do you mean you have no spark at the plugs??
2.the thang under your bowl isn't a back fire anything from what I know .
3.is this a race mower motor ? or what are you doing?.............................
4.i've read some of your other posts, are you building a race mower to compete ????or just somthing to play with??

I see your in in nor-cal , where abouts? I am in sacramento,ca. and we have some real mower racing starting to come about.
I will help all I can but I don't think flames out the tail pipe is safe or needed for racing...

the flames out the exhaust is on my oppy motor it my fun motor, the intek is my race motor, we have races here in town during the norco fair, last year we raced the pomona fair and, were invited to run with Don and his boys at the perris fair. Here in Norco we are just a group of guys that are racing and having fun,Im gonna go out to Dons track as soon as I get this intek running.
on the bottom of the bowl is a valve if you wich has power running to it I was told that was a anti backfire plug it is disconnected.I have fuel running to it and spark, I put new double valve springs in it, I got it to fire a couple of times but would not run for long any suggestion would be helpful thank you, we have a track down here if you boys want to come down, we race for money down here,20 dollars gets you running winner, 2nd and 3rd splitthe money winner getting the most
