I did something dumb the other day.
« on: June 21, 2011, 10:04:38 pm »
The other day I decided to cut up some logs and wood scraps out back. So I drug out my chain saw, filled it up, and tried to start it. Its a little Homelite and has never been that easy to start. But all it would do was just sputter and stop. Long story short I somehow filled the oil reservoir with gas and the gas with chain oil. Anyway, I bet I spent an hour trying to start that thing. When I figured it out and drained it out and stuff and finally got it started I bet I smoked out the neighborhood.

I have fixed one like that before. The customer loaned it out.
So we learned something here... don't loan our saw to you... LOL

We rented a concrete saw once at work.. it ran for about 5 seconds (enough for the carb to empty).  We looked in the gas tank and it looked like it had gas in it.  We decided to pour it into a mason jar.. there was about a half inch of gas on top of a full jar of water.  That was no accident..
