No. Both have a bad 90* right after the carb. You can make them flow better though with some simple porting.

What about them old intakes?  I think I saw one of those on the back of somebody's truck on the way to the scrap yard!
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Their is a couple different stock intakes. Theirs a two piece (aluminum I think??) intake thats alittle hard to find but easy to port, theirs a big cast one and a smaller cast one if I remember correctly. Rooster will chime in here soon and say whats what.

Actually I know of 5.
2 piece cast Aluminum Horizontal, it has shorter legs
1 piece Cast iron horizontal
the "big" cast iron vertical, which seemed to be used mostly on smaller engines
the smaller cast aluminum vertical...the most common
and there were some that had the cast iron horizontal with a bolt on elbow and used on the verticals

OK, I JUST CHECKED AND I HAVE 1- 2 PIECE ALUMIUM, 3- SMALL IRON - 1 LARGE IRON. THE LARGE ONE WINS! I MY TRY ONE OF THE OTHERS TO SEE IF THE LOW END IS BETTER, THE MORE VELOCITY, LESS TOP END THING.

This carb doesn't clear most sanctioned rules for external stock appearing.
