You must be an arm wrestling champion!!!!  But, seriously I don't know how it would work, but I do know that a hand held racing go kart style starter has issues with a well built OHV.  We use one on a Pro X style mower and it needs to be fully charged and off the compression stroke to do the job.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

My plan of attack for this season, use a jump box that I have wired specifically for the mower with quick conenct plugs, start mower in pits off the box and warm it up, go to tech then start off battery. Use jump box to go to the line and stage and only rely on battery if I'm on the track

Thats what we do zach... This coming season we are tieing two small ones together (makin it 24 volts) Garranteed to start it. New mod motor has a lot of compression and we used the two of them wow fired it right off. BUT my on board battery is only good for 4 to 6 starts max.

My battery was also only good for about 4 to 6 starts...I am running a battery that fits a Honda 400EX. It will fit just about anywhere. I promise you can find a spot. It is only 5 3/4 long, 3 1/4 wide by 4 1/4 tall. Its classified as a wet cell but is toally sealed once you put the water in and put the cap on it. If memory is right it was right around 50 bucks.

We used to pull start our 31cu mod. Would wind the rope, brace yourself and pull like heck!! We went to electric start and are using a high torque after market starter. Choice of battery is 12 volt and 12 amp out put. Cranks just fine. Wonder why we didn't change sooner??? Probably not too sharp on this one!!! :bash:
