Hi all. New here. I've raced lots of machines but never a mower!
I'm replacing a Briggs 16hp I/C single with a worn-out Vanguard 16 that I'm refreshing - top end, valves, etc. Poor I/C had 6400 hrs on it. Third rebuild. She finally let go with a nice big fiery explosion. The Toro 52 (yes, it cuts grass
) it's going into takes the power from the flywheel end of the engine. I havent been inside the I/C, but I know the Vannie has a plain bearing on the flywheel side as opposed to a ball bearing unit on the output side. Does anyone think this would be a problem? The Toro uses pulleys mounted to the flywheel
which cause a radial load on the shaft. I'm probably worrying too much. I hope to get another 6000 hrs out of this unit ;-)
