GX390 ARC rod torque
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:25:51 pm »
Of course it was windy yesterday so I believe the instructions for the ARC rod went flying because now I can't find them... can someone tell me the rod torque for the billet rod?

Thanks, Tom

Have to look tonight, I wanna say 5/16 fine thread or 3/8 fine... not sure.  5/16 12-point socket though I'm pretty sure

ARC's rod bolts are custom designed to achieve thread-lock at 170 inch/lbs.
That is with regular oil, Moly is 150 inch/lbs.

If a 12 point 1/4 socket fits it 172 inch lbs
If a 12 point 5/16 socket fits it 30 ft lb
I wet torque them using motor oil and do not torque it all at ONCE sneak up on it. for example the 30 ft lbs go to 15 then 5 at a time till reach 30 then back off and retorque.
