All right, how about some updates.  Got the engine all test fit one last time. Rod wouldn't clear the cam, cam wouldn't clear the block, got that fixed. Lots of grinder time. Need to order a gasket set and make a head gasket then I can put it together after degreeing the isky cam. Cant wait to hear it run. Never had a single this big. Or anything like it.

Also got in touch with Bill. Goeytex. He made me up a prototpe ign to work with the midwest crank trigger. It has a tach adapter in it as well as being able to run an LS-1 coil. Should not have a shortage in spark.

I also got the frame refinished, and rear fenders painted. The chssis is complete. Just need to wire it.

Another update. Long block is together. Waiting on two holes being drilled and tapped. Need them absolutly perfect vertical in my bearing housings so I let the machine shop do it. Once I have those I can finish engine assembly and paint it. Install it, wire it and fire it. whoo hoo.

Well, it runs. Sounds killer, revs way faster than I had expected with the stroke it has. Wants to turn big r's right now. I am very impressed. Sounds like a 50.5 and revs like one as well. I will get some vids later. I need to put a regulator in the fuel line. The super b doesnt like 4psi.

First hook on the 50 today. Ill get some video. Just hope I have that super B dialed in. Should run good. Sounds great. I don't have a tach on it so I'm guessing on rpm and gear. It hooked a 26 tooth last year with 80 inch carlise's and the old 40cid motor. Should still hook that gear with 84 inch cepeks and the 50cid super stock setup.

Well had a good day at the track. Ran the super stock class against the built vannys, and commands. This class is ran at 1000lbs. First hook I ran 27 tooth gear. It hooked it but made it work at the end. I turned it down since I was first hook. Moved 30lbs to the seat box and geared down to. 26 tooth and full pulled it. I won the super stock class with the only full pull. My bosch coil failed before the open class so I wasn't able to run it but all in all a good day. My wife videod it so ill post it later. It turns really hard and I'm close on main jet size.

Hey you should come down to Kentucky and pull against our flathead wisconsion twin!!! They are bad tractors! They can't hardly ever run a weight bar. If they did it's only 15 pounds plus bar. The motor is so heavy!!! I'm working on a deal for my first ever wisconsion twin to run in the stock class. It should fun for me to work with.  ;)

Allright how bout some vids.
2 of me and 1 of my stepdad and his open tractor. First hook I turned down. moved some weight and dropped a gear. Then repulled and full pulled the sled. Beat some really good running open twins. My big 50 ran like I hoped it would. Jetting is a little lean yet. Hardley any color on the plug.

This is my full pull. 26 tooth gear with 84 inch cepeks. This engine makes a ton of torque. I'm turning a tooth or two faster then the twins pull. Not sure on rpm but its as fast as it would turn leaving the line. I figure 6500ish from the way it sounds.

This was the first hook, 27 tooth gear. Had the weight wrong.

The ole mans open twin. leaves the line at 8-8200 and runs down the track at 75-7800. 28 tooth gear. VM07's.

What kind of track do you guys run on...? I'm assuming sandy or loose that you get that kind of wheel speed/gear..?

Randy we run all kinds. That track was dry in the beginning and had bite at the end. Its an old rail road bed. The stock altereds run 21-24 tooth gears. We have some tracks that are all clay. Just run a lower gear on those. I havent hooked a power track yet with my new combo but my stepdads will run a 27 tooth on our best power track.
