Honda Knock off engine help
« on: March 11, 2011, 02:21:32 pm »
I've got a water/chemical pump with a china engine.  I bought in a pinch last year as my briggs blew up after 10 years of abuse!  Anyway the side cover came loose and started to leak oil.  So I'm in need of a gasket and a seal.  I need help identifying this thing so I can get parts for it.

Here are the specs
Jeangsu Jiangdong
6.5 HP
No. 061201837
Code JD196283401
Number on block 07t040935
Number on cover 2549-0041

Can anyone tell me the Honda engine this is copied off of?  It looks like the clone engines the kart guys use, but I'm not sure.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks
Paul

There are two different side cover gaskets. My newer Harbor Freight motors take a different gasket then my yellow 4 bolt valve cover motors. And the side cover bolts backing out is a common problem with these clone motors.Loctite!

Well it just leaked out all the oil over winter. If I tighten up the bolts will it hold.

It is stock with a hypro water pump on it. Not racing!

I tighten then up. Guess I will fill it back up with oil and see what happens.

It was the only pump they had in stock and I NEEDED one as my old one locked up. Going to run it till it blows!
