If I run a Mod-X (ARMA) (CP in US) type mowchine with 6 inch rear wheels I will be required to run with the FX mowers at a National Event that does not have the Open classes, is that correct?  I was hoping to run with ya'll in McDonough Ga. this year.

That question has been on my list of "What If's" in my list of scenarios.. I hope to have a answer to that question soon. We do still have the US Open Single Class...

I think I would stand a better chance in the open classes than with the FX's.  But I could change carbs and run either FX or Open Single-if it is offered, I guess.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

Better performance over the mower carb used for CP.  I have a tillotson, electron, or other ATV carbs to use.

To use a FX motor in US single open would be at a disadvantage
US open can use a motor up to 20 hp

FYI:  With the Hotels the Comfort Inn in Virginia is about 18 mins away from the track.  The Sleep Inn in Caifornia, Maryland is about 30 mins away from the track.  You will pass just about nothing at all from the Comfort Inn to the track, I mean nothing!  From the track to the Sleep Inn you will past just about anything you could need while here.  Food, gas, auto parts stores anything.  Lots of places to choose from, and the prices our just about the same.  Be sure to mention USLMRA is you call the Sleep Inn to get the special price.
The Sleep Inn will also be offering the same deal for the Bowles Farm race during the summer.  Bowles Farm is about 18 mins from the Sleep Inn.

The straights will be about 200 ft long plus the turns.  1/10 miles is about right.  The track will also be about 40 ft wide all the way around.
