ball on carb question
« on: January 09, 2011, 04:34:13 pm »
I have a kohler cv14s engine. on the carb a little ball fell out from a hole on the inside and smoke is coming out of the hole when I turn it over. I was wondering wether I could just JB weld it or if I have to replace the ball.
Sorry but I just found out there was actually a circular cover on the left side of the carb that fell off. and how do we fix it?

There may have been a small spring in the hole with the ball bearing too. The round disk part is called a welsh plug, you can get them from a rebuild kit for your carb. Figure out which model carb you have and go to Outdoor Distributors dot com and find a parts blow-up for it. That way you'll know if you need a spring and a ball or just a ball. By the way the 'smoke' you see is gas/air vapor.
