Montgomery Wards tractor
« on: December 30, 2010, 10:38:55 pm »
I'm thinking of using this tractor for a mod x. Has anyone used this type before. I have a couple of ideas but would like some input.

Thanks

I'm building one like it, but not that exact one, mine is really short 16 inch tires make it look really small.

I actually had 2 of them. The other one was missing a lot of pieces and we junked it now that I think I'm going to make a racer out of it I'm regretting that decision.  This one has a wheel base of 39.5"  I also have a set of MTD fenders that look just like the ones on the tractor but wider that will go on it, one of the is in the seat.

I'm building one exactly like that, its heavy with it complete, but once you strip all the parts off you don't need, it is actually light. Here is a pic of what i started with and what i have so far.

STUPID QUESTION. WHY ARE YOU INSTALLING A DYNAMARK HOOD AND FENDERS ON AN MTD? JUST WONDERING SINCE YOU HAVE THE MTD BODY WORK.

Nice racer Brett

Well the plan is a peerless 700, live axle, fully adjustable front end, 8" rears and 6" fronts. The motor is up in the air right now but we have a 18 hp AVS available.
