!2 hp mod. 28 carb ?
« on: November 07, 2006, 10:02:50 pm »
I'm going to build a model 28 briggs for the 07' season. It will have a billet rod and piston with valve work and port work, and I am wondering what to use for a carb. Our track rules don't require us to use the original carb. so I am wondering if anyone has suggestions of other carbs to use that would be readily adaptable to this motor? Or should I use the stocker and have it upgraded? I think that EC. and G team both do upgrades. Any suggestions would be considered.

Well its totally up to you but E.C. Distributing has made the original carb a serious contender. With us blueprinting and making it one of our dominator series carbs will run with the best of them. If you really want to go for the best then a tillotson carb will be the choice. Biggest issue with that is an intake will have to be made to accept the tillotson. Call me.

I personally ran a 360b there's many options, Jon is the carb guru there call and speak with him. Yea those you speak of are easy to jet mechanically swap out. where a tilly you just adjust the needles. All a personal preferance though.

Looks like I'll be buying a briggs carb from you when i get ready. do you need a core carb or do you just sell reworked ones?

they are brand new carbs that are blueprinted and massaged for enhanced flow they come with filter adapter and a rubber cap to keep the elements out when not in use. The filters if you need them also are 14.95

What i did was found a 14HP horizontal kohler engine took the carb off of it and it fit right onto the factory briggs intake it worked perfect it is also fully adjustable. My grandpa used the exact same carb on his 50 hp pulling tractor. you can also find them pretty cheap. worked great for my outlaw club but wont work for USLMRA.
