My Trike!!!
« on: November 07, 2006, 12:29:07 am »
Ty has FINALLY started this long awaited project of building my LAWNMOWER TRIKE!!  WooHoo!!

And as soon as someone tells me how to resize these photos, I'll get right on that!  The photos are actually 500 x 375 but they were resized in the post for some reason.... ????

He is using a rear engine Simplicity.

This is, or rather was, the front end of a 1975 Kawasaki KZ.

Here the front end is welded on...  NOW we're getting somewhere!  The handle bars are HD drag bars.

Gas tank is off of a HD Sportster but is just for looks.  Possibly will transform into storage... Mama needs her gloves for riding!

Rear axle and wheels mounted!

It has an 11hp B&S engine & a Peerless 700 tranny.  He'll be finishing up the drive train and engine soon.  Then comes the fine tuning...  We'll keep you posted!!

Sarah the issues with Image Size and how to make it all work are discussed here...

http://www.heymow.com/index.php/topic,1671.0.html

I linked the above images for you already. You can link a bigger image as well, no need to reduce them to 450 - 500 px wide anymore, the SMF board won't let you blow it up! We do appreciate you being so thoughtful and considerate though!!  ;)

Your code in above linked images...

Looking at your pictures, you do have that welded to the frame and not just the sheet metal, right? It looks like it's just welded to the sheet metal which will cause you all sorts of problems :worried:

Hey, My first mower at my house was that same model Simplicity! But mine was a little less rustly. I just gave that mower to a buddy of mine for trade, I wish I would of looked closer at the tranny, I did'nt even think to check if it was a peerless 700. But it still run's like new to this day.

Is this trike mower gonna be a grass cutter or made to go fast?

Hey Mowdak,

Thanks for the help with the pics!!

Not a problem!! New methodology there makes for a neater cleaner looking page, and helps with load speed for the dial-up folks.

I see the code, but what's the "quick" trick to load it..??

I have been copying the "url" tag off photobucket...
Then using the [url*] button...
Backspace and add "=" paste...
Then forward space add [img*][/img]
And paste again...

Is there a quicker way..?

lets see for starters, the front end of the trike is welded to floor ,top and sides of column and also two supports from frame rail to front end aren't added yet ,cause  forgot to bring them home from work.
well planning on having it sand blasted for the most part, well when it is all finished it should be a 40 to 50 mph machine.so, I guess you could say that it will not be used for cutting grass anymore, but should be a fun and interesting ride

Off of Photobucket it should set the code up to paste here Randy. See the other thread that's linked up there, George explains the gathering of code on photobucket to some extent, likewise I there is even a picture of it in the post your pics thread. There is a section bottom of the page, as best I recall, that spits out code for you to simply copy and paste. It writes that entire string of code for your image, you simply copy it there and paste it to your thread here.

If you guys have the available bandwidth/storage space I can set you up with a working copy of the same uploader that I use on my website.
