#35 chain on a sportsman

i am building my first sportsman i was wondering if a 35 chain and sprockets will hold up or should i just buy the 40 chain and sprockets i will be running a twelve hp flatty

35 will hold, I know a guy runnin it on his bp. Its just all in how ya treat things. But I see no reason why you would break it on a sp/sportsman other than sheer neglect from maintenance

Personally I will never run the 35 again. Tried it years ago on a mildly built FX was nothing but a ohv with a cam. HAd to replace it every two races. You will find as many not liking it as do. I prefer the 40 Never have a problem with it.

If your going to run 35 chain run something good like rlv chain.. its the best chain i have ever ran and last forever seems like....

Gotta go with George, I have always run 35 on my Minis up to my Pro, never had a problem until this year, I almost did not run at the nats because I broke chains on both mini's. However I ran both of them all year, but I ran all the ARMA races except one, they just flat wore out. 35 if you replace it mid season, or go with 40 all season, just my thoughts.

I run 35 on my FX and had problems untill I started using good lube. I use the EK gold space chain. And Torco lube. Not cheep.

The rlvis the best i we have ever run the last chain we ran for two years and just lubing it with wd40 and old motor oil...
