NIPPONDENSO / DELCO-REMY STARTER
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:08:48 pm »
The Kohler service manual shows the Nippondenso starter and delco starter as an option but I can't find a part number for it in the Kohler parts lookup. anyone know a part number? Have you seen it used on a particular model?

Thanks

I think you are asking about for the single command ? Anyway the nip starter was offered early on in production, I do not know if it is still spec'ed for the command or not. Most everything i have seen for several years now are the delco type. According to the starter shops online the Delco has more cranking power for the twins anyway, supposedly 20 to 30% more.

I will check and see what I have.  I have normally found that starter on the John Deere STX tractors

thankyou chuck

I found the starter that I was looking for I think on brian millers site cheaper than from kohler. I haven't asked but for some reason it is excluded from the cv-14  the description says it fits 12.5 and 15 but not 14 confused since 12.5 and 14 use the same short block. I am going to use midwests steel flywheel.
Does anyone know why this might be?

Thanks
