I race in Potterville and have raced up there once. The biggest thing you have to decide is are you going to build a US legal mower or one for Maple Rapids and Ithaca. The mowers up that way work very good, as i have raced with them, but if want to go race some US races and race with CP's or SP's you need a different set-up. Just something else to keep in mind. If you can come down to Potterville Sept 25 for our last race. I know that some of the Dirt Devils will be here and you will be able to see and talk to more guys about advice.

Well you have hit on a subject that I love!
In your area there is alot of racing, you have choices.
I had the oppurtunity to meet some of the ithaca and Pottervile guys in Ohio, and they seem like a good group of guys. So if you choose to you can build to their rules and just race locally with them!
Or if you want to race at larger events and do some traveling, you can build a USLMRA legal mower and race at USLMRA as well as ARMA events, there are quite a few that would not be a long haul for you!

You have the problem I wish I had, alot of racing to choose from!

Go to our website and look over the pictures and rules.http://www.rough-riderslawnmowerracing.com/index.html I am the tech official for the Rough Riders so if you have any questions just call me. Snopro is right. Come down to our invitational and check out the whole bunch of racers. And yes, the craftsman is a good one to build especially if you already have it.

Im kinda biased but the STX, Sabre, Scotts are just as easy to build. They are light (not like a 108,111,170,180). I weigh less with me and my mower than a stock 108.

Yeah I forgot about them, they seem to be very well built right from the factory.
